Off day for offense as Wildcats fall at E-W / Baseball

The Oak Harbor High School baseball team hit the ball but struggled to get hits in a 9-0 loss at Edmonds-Woodway on a date noted for bad luck, Friday the 13th.

The Wildcats put the ball in play, striking out only once, but mustered only two hits off the Warriors’ Logan Kruse.

Kruse took a perfect game into the fifth inning, then the with two outs, he hit Andrew Dixon with a pitch to place the first Wildcat runner on base.

Chase Ogden led off the sixth inning with a single for Oak Harbor’s first hit. Donnie Kloewer singled in the sixth.

The Warriors scored in every inning but the second to up their record to 5-4 in league play and 6-6 overall.

Oak Harbor (1-11, 1-12) goes to Marysville Getchell (1-9, 1-11) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, and then hosts the Chargers at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
