Oak Harbor takes 6th in first Wesco match / Boys golf

The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team finished sixth out of seven teams in the first Wesco North match of the season Tuesday, March 26, at Marysville’s Cedarcrest Golf Course.

Everett took first with 145 strokes over the par-36, nine-hole event. Snohomish and Stanwood tied for second with 166. Arlington won a tight battle for fourth with 171, edging Marysville-Pilchuck at 172 and Oak Harbor at 173. Host Marysville Getchell shot a 211.

The Wildcats’ Nick Krantz finished tied for fourth in the individual standings with a one-over 37. Nate Thompson carded a 42, Aiden Wyer 45, Haven Brown 49 and Wyatt Bright 50.

Everett’s Austin Duffy took medalist honors with a 34.

Oak Harbor will compete in the Tom Dolan Invitational at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Everett Golf and Country Club.
