Oak Harbor starts summer season in Tacoma tournament / Baseball

The Oak Harbor High School summer baseball team opened its season by winning one of four games at the Baseball Bash in Tacoma over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Wildcats started the tournament with a 7-3 win over the BB Kings.

Austin Boesch and Donny Kloewer led the offense, each collecting two hits and an RBI. Thomas Anderson, Aaron Martinez and Chase Ogden each singled.

The Cardinals scored three runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and defeat Oak Harbor 5-4 in game two.

Boesch, again, rapped two hits. Kloewer, Corey Roberts and Joe Dixon added one apiece.

A seven-run third inning helped the Hanford Flames beat Oak Oak Harbor 9-0 in game three. Boesch led off the game with a single, the Wildcats’ lone hit.

The Toros topped Oak Harbor 10-0 in the tournament finale. Anderson, Ogden, Joe Dixon and Andrew Dixon singled for the Wildcats.

Oak Harbor will play in a tournament in Pasco June 9-11.
