Oak Harbor ‘nips’ Marysville-Pilchuck 7-0 / Tennis

Don’t let the score fool you. Oak Harbor High School’s 7-0 win in tennis over visiting Marysville-Pilchuck Wednesday, Sept. 12, was not easy.

“The boys fought long and hard for this match,” coach Tino Gutierrez said.

Three of the matches went three sets, and in each Oak Harbor players had to rebound after losing the first.

Only one of the sets in the other four contests was decided by more than the required two points. Six went “overtime.”

The Wildcats (2-1) will take that momentum to Arlington (2-3) for a 3:30 p.m. match Monday, Sept. 17.
