Oak Harbor easily defeats Cascade / Swim and dive

Oak Harbor won all but two events in a 118-61 victory over the Cascade High School swim and dive team Monday, Sept. 18, at John Vanderzicht Pool.

Senior Jillian Pape and freshman Ashleigh Merrill each finished in the winners circle four times.

Pape won the 50-meter freestyle (29.02) and 400 free (5:05.79) and Merrill captured the 200 individual medley (2:41.14) and 100 free (1:03.01). Then the pair joined Taliah Black and Olivia Tungate to win the 200 medley relay (2:11.9) and 200 free relay (2:00.41).

Tungate (100 butterfly, 1:08.47) and Black (100 breaststroke, 1:23.7) each added their own individual wins.

Kelly Gruenwald (diving, 178.05) and Scout Powell (100 backstroke, 1:24.13) were the other Wildcat winners.

Oak Harbor (3-1) competes at Lake Stevens (1-1) at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.
