Oak Harbor completes conference regular season / Track

The Oak Harbor High School track teams closed out the conference regular season with 13 blue ribbons at a three-team meet in Everett Thursday, April 27.

The Wildcat boys defeated Lynnwood 73-62, while the girls lost to the Royals 82-63. Scores of the Oak Harbor-Everett meets were not reported.

Alexis Smith led the Wildcat attack by winning two individual events in the girls meet (1,600, 5:36.33; 3,200, 11:52.22). Jenna Cooley won one individual event (400, 1:06.21) as well as two relays. She joined Jennifer Turnek, Alora Caillier and Amaya Rittierodt to take the 4×200 (1:53.15) and Taylor Kesler, Turnek and Jessica Vester to win the 4×400 (4:29.4).

Maria Dailey, Caillier, Kesler and Rittierodt helped Oak Harbor sweep the relays by winning the 4×100 (52.79).

The boys earned firsts from Mac Nuanez (400, 52.7), Kyle Nickols (high jump, 6) and Garren Guerrero (triple jump, 40-11), while Jordan Washington and Andrew Miller tied in the long jump (20-04).

The Wildcats also won both relays. Jordan Bell, Miller, Dorian Hardin and Taeson Hardin took the 4×100 (45.37), while Miguel Guzman, Chris Brown, Immanuel McLaurrin and TJ Passmore grabbed first in the 4×400 (3:39.03).

Before heading into the postseason, Oak Harbor will compete in three invitational meets. The first is the 14th Annual Tomahawk Classic at Marysville-Pilchuck at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29.
