An informational meeting for those considering officiating high school and middle school basketball this winter is set for 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at LaVenture Middle School in Mount Vernon.

The Northwest Board, which covers Island, Skagit and Whatcom counties, is hosting the meeting at 1200 N. LaVenture Road.

A basic knowledge of basketball and its rules is recommended.
