Loss ends state trip for North Whidbey / 11/12 baseball

The North Whidbey Little League 11/12 baseball team bowed out of the state tournament with a 17-2 loss to Montesano Monday, July 17, in Federal Way.

“It’s unfortunate to see such an amazing season come to an end,” coach Shane Hoffmire said. “Despite giving it our all at state, it wasn’t enough this time.

“This is an extremely young team, and as they come home champions, the players, coaches and parents are already looking to the work that’ll need to be done to repeat as District 11 champions and to have a better chance at winning state.”

No details on the game were provided.
