Holcombs win fall series / Sailing

Yeah Dogg, skippered by Chad and Shannon Holcomb, finished third Thursday, Sept, 14, in the final Oak Harbor Yacht Club Sailing Fleet Fall Series race, good enough to wrap up the overall series title.

Jim McAlpine on Lucky Jim captured Thursday’s race. He was followed by Shannon Buys (Vertigo), the Holcombs, Rex Dupuis (Gadzooks) and Toto.

For the series, Yeah Dogg won four of the eight regattas and finished with 11 points, three better than Lucky Jim. Vertigo took third, then came Slingshot (Rick Almberg), Ehu Kai (Bill Walker), Gadzooks, Toto and Renaissance (Dave Steckman).
