A free seminar, Crabbing 101, will be offered by the Deception Pass Sail and Power Squadron and the Oak Harbor Yacht Club at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Yacht Club.

The seminar will teach participants how to rig a pot, catch crabs from shore or boat and avoid equipment loss.

Subjects of the seminar will include needed equipment; the best baits, times and tides; license requirements and regulations; Whidbey Island crabbing locations; and crab lore and life cycles.

A $5 donation to the Power Squadron Education fund is suggested.
