Fall prep preview / Oak Harbor cheer

A large group of returning letter winners will guide the Oak Harbor High School cheer team this season.

Coach Kimberly Schmal’s squad includes 10 members who cheered for the Wildcats last fall: Makynzie Curtis, Aubrey Buttigieg, Makayla Benevides, Rebekah Vasquez, Jada Jones, Avery Roberts, Brittany McCullough, Shyanne King, AJ Diamond and Aspen Covert-Kemper.

Key newcomers, according to Schmal, are Asya Pressley, Brooke Whelpley, Karissa Becerra and Issis Foster.

The expectations for the season are “to continue to grow our program and to raise school spirit to an all-time high,” Schmal said.
