Erikson takes 2nd at Arlington tournament / Girls wrestling

Oak Harbor’s Ella Erikson placed second at the Arlington Girls Rumble Saturday, Jan. 12.

The Wildcats were represented by only two wrestlers and finished 14th out of 18 teams with 17 points. Arlington won the team title with 308, easily outdistancing second place Chief Sealth with 136.

Erikson received a bye and then defeated Alisa Chin of Chief Sealth 6-2 in the semifinals. She then lost to Arlington’s Mikayla Kolbeck 12-4 in the finals of the 115-pound class.

Oak Harbor’s other wrestler, Anika Rasmussen (125 pounds), was injured in her open match and had to default.

The Wildcats will compete at the Stanwood Scramble at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16.
