CWSA hosts benefit match / Shooting

Sharpshooters can win an Easter ham and help a worthy cause at the same time at the Central Whidbey Sportsmen’s Association Charity Benefit Match 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20.

All proceeds from the match, which is open to the public, will go to Coupeville’s Gifts from the Heart Food Bank.

The top shooters in the six events will win a ham at the 1 p.m. awards presentation; there is a one-ham limit per individual.

The six events are briquettes from 10 yards (pistol), poker hand from 15 yards (pistol), shot gun pig shoot from 25 yards (shotgun), dart shoot from 10 yards (pistol); rifle shoot from 50 yards (22 rim-rifle) and trap shoot — best of 10 (shotgun).

Shoot-offs, if necessary, will be held at 12:30 p.m.

The club encourages participants to bring their own pistols and shotguns and ammunition; the club will provide 22 pistols and 22 rifles and ammunition for those who need them.

Shooters 15 and under will compete in the junior class.

Participants are also encouraged to bring dry and canned food donations for the food bank.
