Coupeville swats Chimacum / Tennis

The Coupeville tennis team cruised by visiting Chimacum 6-1 Tuesday, April 25.

The Wolves are now 2-0 in conference play (4-3 overall) and head to Klahowya (2-1, 4-7) Thursday, April 27, for a 4 p.m. match (and a half) that will play a big role in determining this year’s Olympic League champion.

First the two teams will complete a match from last week that was in progress before being suspended because of rain. When finished, they will play the second game of the doubleheader.

Coupeville results versus Chimacum (0-4, 0-6):

Singles: 1, Valen Trujillo won 6-2, 6-1; 2, Fanny Deprelle lost 7-6(6-4), 0-6, 10-6; 3, Bree Daigneault won 7-6(7-2), 6-3.

Doubles: 1, Sage Renninger/Payton Aparicio won 6-0, 6-0; 2, Zoe Trujillo/Avalon Renninger won 6-1, 6-1; 3, Maggie Crimmins/Kameryn St. Onge won 6-0, 6-0; 4, Tia Wurzrainer/Claire Mietus won by forfeit.
