Coupeville hosts Olympic League JV Championships / Track

The new Coupeville High School track got a workout when it hosted the 10-team Olympic League Junior Varsity Championships Monday, May 8.

About 150 athletes took part, and North Kitsap claimed first place in both the boys and girls meets.

Coupeville placed seventh in the boys meet and eighth in the girls.

Luke Carlson paced the boys by taking fourth in the javelin (92-06), ninth in the 200 (27.41) and 12th in the 100 (13.34).

Thane Peterson placed fifth in the discus (78-02.5), 10th in the javelin (68) and 17th in the 200 (28.71).

Keahi Sorrows was third in the discus (86-09.5) and fifth in the shot put (31-02.5).

Kyle Burnett ran to sixth in the 200 (26.87) and 10th in the 100 (13.22).

Greg Villareal also competed for the Wolves, taking 19th in the 100 (13.82).

For the girls, Willow Vick won the high jump (3-08), and Madison Rixe took sixth in the 200 (32.97) and eighth in the 100 (15.52).
