Coupeville collects five wins / Track

The Coupeville High School track team won five events at a six-team meet Thursday, April 20, at Port Angeles.

The Wolves, as a team, finished second in the boys meet and fourth in the girls.

Sequim won the boys meet with 100 points, followed by Coupeville with 67. Port Townsend tallied 45 and Port Angeles 40. Clallam Bay and Neah Bay also competed but were not included in the team scoring.

Port Angeles finished first in the girls meet with 95.5 points. Port Townsend scored 58, Sequim 57 and Coupeville 50.5 in a tight race for second.

Jacob Smith (100, 11.5), Danny Conlisk (400, 52.58), Chris Battaglia (shot put, 36-08.5) and Mitchell Carroll (triple jump, 40-03) were winners for the Coupeville boys.

Freshman Maya Toomey-Stout collected the only win for the Coupeville girls, taking the 100 (13.39).

The Wolves go to North Kitsap for the Lil’ Norway Invitational at 11 p.m. Saturday, April 22.

Coupeville hosts Friday Harbor and Lopez Island at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 24.
