Conference play got off to a resounding start for the Coupeville High School soccer team as the Wolves hammered host Chimacum 12-0 Tuesday, March 13.

Derek Leyva led the onslaught with four goals, and Pedro Gamarra and Aram Leyva Elenes each recorded a hat trick.

William Nelson and Sam Wynn notched the other goals for the Wolves.

Coupeville (2-0) plays a non-league match at Sequim (1-0) at 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 16.
