Coupeville beats Bear Creek / Tennis

A sweep of singles carried the Coupeville High School tennis team to a 3-2 win over visiting Bear Creek Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Jakobi Baumann (6-3, 6-3) and Drake Borden (6-3, 6-4) captured the singles contests to help the Wolves win their second match in four tries this season.

Coupeville picked up its third team point with a win in second doubles by Mason Grove and James Wood (6-3, 7-6[7-3]).

Zach Ginnings and Jacob Burke were edged in first doubles 7-5, 7-5; and Tiger Johnson and Jaschon Baumann fell in third doubles 6-1, 6-4.

Coupeville (2-2) plays Seattle Academy at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Amy Yee Center in Seattle.
