Cooley signs with PLU

Jenna Cooley, a senior at Oak Harbor High School, signed a letter of intent Wednesday, March 14, to attend Pacific Lutheran University and compete for the Lutes’ women’s track team.

Cooley chose PLU over Point Loma, Whitman and Washington State University because she “fell in love with the campus, the people — the whole community.”

She also liked Pacific Lutheran’s kinesiology program, her planned major.

Cooley, who runs the sprints and competes in the jumps for Oak Harbor, plans to focus on the 400 meters at PLU. She posted a personal best in the event, 1:01.93, at last year’s Wesco North championships.

Cooley has earned varsity letters in both track and soccer at Oak Harbor High School since her freshman year.
