Conlisk competes at Junior Olympics / Track

Coupeville’s Danny Conlisk placed 60th in the 400 meters at the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics Friday, July 27, in Greensboro, N.C.

Conlisk, competing for the Kitsap Fliers, ran a 52.39. Louisiana’s Derrick Price of New Era Track led all qualifiers with a 47.35.

Conlisk, a rising senior at Coupeville, clocked a 50.21 and placed third at the regional Junior Olympic meet July 8 in Bend to qualify for the national finals.

During the high school season, Conlisk won the Olympic League and district titles in the 400, and went on to place second in the 1A state meet in a personal best 49.7.
