Cedarcrest slices up ‘Cats / Soccer

Cedarcrest cut through the defense of the Oak Harbor High School soccer team for a 4-0 win Tuesday, March 19, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Oak Harbor coach Jeff Laiblin said his team’s poor play combined with match-up issues led to the defeat.

“We struggled to stop their fast-slicing offense and gave up two goals in each half,” he added.

Laiblin said halftime adjustments led to “positive movement in how we want to progress.”

That step forward and the return of injured players should result in improvement in future matches, Laiblin said.

Oak Harbor (0-2, 0-4) entertains Shorecrest (1-1, 1-3) at 7 p.m. Friday, March 22.
