‘Cats win tough match with M-P / Tennis

For the second time this season, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team beat Marysville-Pilchuck by a lopsided score, and, like the first match, the team score doesn’t tell the whole story.

While the Wildcats prevailed 6-1 in Marysville Thursday, Sept. 20, most of the individual matches featured close battles.

“The scores don’t indicate how tough the match was,” coach Tino Gutierrez said.

Three of the matches went three sets, and in two Oak Harbor athletes had to come from behind after dropping the first.

Oak Harbor (1-2, 3-3) entertains Everett (0-2, 2-4) at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24.
