‘Cats win conference opener / Tennis

The Oak Harbor High School tennis team opened Western Conference play with a 4-3 win at Arlington Tuesday, April 9.

In addition to picking up the league win, the Wildcats upped their season record to 3-4. Arlington fell to 0-2 and 0-7.

Oak Harbor now hosts unbeaten Snohomish (1-0, 4-0) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

Oak Harbor results versus Arlington

Singles: 1, MJ Timm won 6-1, 6-3; 2, Annie Salinger lost 3-6, 6-3, 6-2; 3, Danielle Lonborg won 6-2, 6-2; 4, Jasmine Schultz lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Doubles: 1, Monique Stolmeier/Olivia Lerch won 7-6(7-3), 6-1; 2, Frances Empinado/Anne-Jun Lemoine lost 6-2, 6-1; 3, Emily Gouge/Elica Atienza won 6-1, 6-3.
