‘Cats earn four blue ribbons at Stanwood / Track

Oak Harbor High School picked up four first places at the Twilight Invitational track meet Friday, May 5, at Stanwood.

The Wildcats boys earned three of the firsts as they placed third out of eight schools in the team standings with 108 points. Lake Stevens captured the meet with 156.5 points.

The Oak Harbor girls were fifth out of nine schools with 77.5 points. Lake Stevens also took the girls title, tallying 165 points.

Ben Gasper won the 3,200 (10:29.91) and Michael Fisken was first in the discus (140) for the Wildcat boys. Mac Nuanez, Chris Brown, Ozell Jackson and Miguel Guzman grabbed first in the 4×400 relay (3:34.4).

Alexis Smith paced the Oak Harbor girls with a win in the 3,200 (11:49); her sister Megan Smith placed second (12:31.07).

Oak Harbor hosts the Wesco North division championships at 4 p.m Wednesday, May 10, and 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 12.
