OHHS athlete looks to past to determine future

Most high school athletes recruited to play in college select their future school for a similar reason -- “It just feels right.”

The Oak Harbor girls golf team topped Arlington 264-280 at the Whidbey Golf Club. Marisa Sligh earned her first medalist honors of the spring with a 45 (36 par) over nine holes. Hailey Beecher shot 50, Rosego Mooki 51, Terra Baird 52 and Grace Korsmo 66.

The Oak Harbor boys golf team finished second out of the six Wesco North schools in a conference match at Whidbey Golf Club. The match was halted after nine holes because of bad weather.

Oak Harbor hosts district sailing event

The waters of Penn Cove will be dotted with a fleet of sailboats this weekend as the Oak Harbor High School sailing team hosts the Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Association Double Handed District Championships Friday through Sunday, April 24-26.

Taking a break from Wesco action, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team topped South Whidbey 5-2 in a nonleague contest on the Wildcats' courts Monday, April 20.
