Ian Smith of Coupeville High School was recently selected to the all-state 1A baseball second team.

A panel of prep sports writers from throughout Washington chose squads of the best players in the state for each classification.

Smith, a junior right-hander, was picked for the second team as a pitcher. This spring he finished with a 4-5 record and 4.90 earned run average for the Wolves, the only 1A school in the predominately 2A Cascade Conference.
