Oak Harbor Legion AA opened the Port Angeles Firecracker Invitational baseball tournament with an 11-8 win over Sequim Thursday, July 1.
Oak Harbor was paced by Ryan Byrne. Byrne took over on the mound with one out in the second inning and won the game in long relief and helped his cause with a three-run home run.
He received plenty of offensive help. Yale Rosen was 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBI. Jay Stout finished 4-for-5 with a run batted in, and Sam Wolfe went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Oak Harbor next plays host Wilder Baseball at 7 p.m. Friday, July 2.
