Bellingham Post 7 shut out the host Oak Harbor Legion AA baseball team 4-0 Tuesday, May 25, in the league-opener for both teams.
Bellingham’s Ben Wilson tossed a three-hitter in route to his shutout. He struck out three, walked one and hit one.
Josh Evans, Spencer McBride and Sam Wolfe collected the only Oak Harbor hits.
Gabe Clark pitched the first six innings for Oak Harbor, allowing just five hits and two earned runs.
Although Oak Harbor had just three hits, the local club hit the ball hard. Coach Tyson VanDam wasn’t disappointed and said in regard to his unlucky offense, “That’s baseball.”
Oak Harbor (1-2) entertains Burlington Tuesday, June 1, at 6 p.m.
