Track: Wildcats begin district with points in long jump

Both Oak Harbor girls and boys placed in the finals of the long jump at the district track meet at Snohomish Wednesday, May 19.

Shantae Young (17-00.5) and Naomi Walker (15-11.5) went 1-5 in the girls long jump for the Wildcats.

For the boys, Donovan Hunt (20-11.75) and Josh Higbee (20-01) finished fourth and eighth.

Finals in just a few events were held Wednesday; most of the day was reserved for preliminaries for Friday's portion of the meet which will begin at 5 p.m. in Snohomish.
