Tennis: Oak Harbor loses to second-place Snohomish

The Oak Harbor girls tennis was edged 4-3 at second-place Snohomish Thursday, May 6, in the final regular-season match.
For the second match in a row, Wildcat coach Horace Mells mixed up his lineup and got mixed results.
Singles players Laurin Rico and Clarissa Abadesco paired up and won first doubles 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-1.
Shannon Neilon and Alexa Holmly, who usually play doubles, lost in third and fourth singles. Neilon fell 2-6, 3-6; Holmly lost 3-6, 2-6.
Cady O'Dell grabbed first singles 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, and Erin Neilon took second singles 6-1, 6-0.
Jordan Faralan and Kerry Rathsabanhdith dropped second doubles 4-6, 0-6. Jennifer Fremd and Jennifer Bowers were beaten 2-6, 1-6 in third doubles.
Oak Harbor finished the regular season 6-10; Snohomish is 11-3.
The Wesco North tournament takes place May 12 through 14 at Arlington.
