Monroe's soccer team spoiled Oak Harbor's Senior Night by defeating the Wildcats 4-2 Monday, May 3.
Oak Harbor coach Brian Thompson started all of his seniors, and he noted that heavy winds "played havoc" during the match.
The Bearcats scored first, but Oak Harbor's Greg Wolfe, with an assist from Ryan Fakkema, quickly tied it up in the 14th minute.
Monroe (7-6-2) tacked on three more goals (including an own goal) before the half to take a 4-1 lead at the break.
Michael Shevchuk netted a penalty kick for the Wildcats in the second half, but that was a close as Oak Harbor (2-13) could get.
Oak Harbor completes its season at first-place Lake Stevens (11-2-1) Wednesday, May 5.
