Middle school track: Oak Harbor/North Whidbey finishes second at Burlington meet

The Wildcat United track team, a combination of athletes from Oak Harbor and North Whidbey middle schools, finished second in a three-team meet at Burlington Wednesday, April 21.

Host Burlington-Edison won the meet with 93 points over Wildcat United with 57 and Mount Vernon with 27.

Following are the top-three finishes by Wildcat United members:

Seventh-grade girls:

100: 1, Sierra Sebold, 14.52; 3, Sonia Demarsh, 15.03.

1,600: 1, Marisa Sligh, 6:29.

400: 1, Katie Hourigan, 1:24.16.

800: 2, Hayley Lundstrom, 2:58.

200: 2, Jonalyn Horn, 32.1.

Discus: 3, Kayla Nagel, 33-07.

Javelin: 1, Nalani Gabbert, 63-04.

Long jump: 1, Gabbert, 12-09.

High jump: 2, Sebolt, 3-08.

Hurdles: 2, Megan Gronbach, 20.49; 3, Amelia Berner, 20.87.
