Taking advantage of Oak Harbor mistakes, the Snohomish fastpitch team defeated the Wildcats twice Monday, April 26, at Hillcrest Elementary.

The Panthers won the first game 8-6, then dominated the second 11-1.

In the opener, Oak Harbor out hit the Panthers 9-6 but committed nine errors (Snohomish had zero) to allow the visitors to steal the game.

Thanks to Kasie Brown's three-run triple in the fourth inning, Oak Harbor overcame a 5-0 deficit to take a 6-5 lead. However, Snohomish tacked on three more runs over the next two innings to get the win.

The Wildcats' other two runs came in the third when Whitney Osborn doubled, Brown singled and Shawna Steele doubled.

In the second game, a disastrous seven-run second-inning sunk Oak Harbor. The Panthers (4-6, 5-9) combined four walks, a hit batter and four errors for the outburst.

The Wildcats scored their lone run off an Aria Araceley double.

Coach Jessica Weikle said Oak Harbor should have beaten the Panthers, "but until our infielders stop making silly mistakes, we won't win."

She added, "For the most part, our pitchers are hitting their spots and getting ground balls, but the fielders are letting them down."

Oak Harbor (0-10, 1-12) hosts Monroe (4-5, 6-7) Wednesday, April 28, at 4 p.m.
