Tennis: Wildcats win again, defeat Arlington 4-3

Make that four in a row.
The Oak Harbor girls tennis team defeated Arlington 4-3 Friday, April 23, on the Eagles’ courts to keep its win streak alive.
The four wins followed a six-match losing streak and raised the Wildcats’ record to 5-6.
As in all four wins, Oak Harbor took all three singles matches. Cady O’Dell won in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2. Erin Neilon won 6-1 twice in second singles, while Laurin Rico was a 6-4, 6-1 winner in the No. 3 spot. Clarissa Abedesco finished the sweep 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles play, Jordan Faralan and Kerry Rathsabanhdith lost 1-6, 3-6 in first doubles; Jennifer Bowers and Jennifer Fremd fell by the same score in second doubles. In third doubles, Alexa Holmly and Shannon Neilon won the second set 6-3, but lost the first (0-6) and third (5-7).
With third-place Arlington (6-3) out of the why, Oak Harbor will be at home Monday, April 26, against first-place Stanwood (9-1) and Wednesday, April 28, against Marysville-Pilchuck (4-6) at 3:45 p.m.
