Tennis: Oak Harbor defeats Lake Stevens 4-3

Winning its third straight match, the Oak Harbor girls tennis team defeated host Lake Stevens 4-3 Thursday, April 22.

The Wildcats opened the season with a win, then dropped six matches before the current winning spurt that has raised their record to 4-6. They are now tied with the Vikings for sixth place in Wesco. Lake Stevens beat Oak Harbor 4-3 earlier this season.

Oak Harbor swept the singles matches: No. 1, Cady O'Dell, 6-3, 6-3; No. 2, Erin Neilon, 6-3, 6-2; No. 3, Laurin Rico, 6-0, 6-0; No. 4, Clarissa Abadesco, 6-3, 6-0.

Oak Harbor dropped all three doubles matches: No. 1, Jordan Faralan/Kerry Rathsabanhdith 4-6, 3-6; No. 2, Jennifer Bowers/Jennifer Fremd, 0-6, 1-6; No. 3, Shannon Neilon/Alexa Holmly, 3-6, 1-6.

The Wildcats play at Arlington (6-2) today, April 23; first-place Stanwood (8-1) comes to Oak Harbor Monday, April 26, at 3:45.
