Track: Wolves grabs three firsts

The Coupeville track teams earned three firsts in a five-team meet at Lakewood Thursday, April 22.

Tyler King picked up two of those wins in the 400 meters (53.02) and 3,200 (10:13.87). Mitch Pelroy took the 200 (23.97) and was third in the 100 (11.93).

Hunter Hammer was second in the shot put (43) and discus (117-01). Will Hoskins was third in the high jump (5-04), Chase Bates fourth in the 400 (55.99) and Zach Piercy fifth in the shot (37-06).

The 4x400 team of Pelroy, Hoskins, Bates and King finished second in 3:43.09.

Jai'lysa Hoskins' second in the 200 (27.75) was the girls best finish; she was fourth in the 100 (13.64). Although Hoskins lost in the 200 for the first time this season, she posted her best time of 2010.

Anna Bailey placed third in the 400 (1:11.63) and Arianna Pozzatti was third in the 3,200 (15:50.84).

Lakewood won both the boys and girls meets; Coupeville was fourth in the boys and fifth in the girls.

The Wolves will take part in the Westling Invitational at South Whidbey High School Saturday, April 24, at 10 a.m.
