Oak Harbor graduates John Hu and Evan Wilson of the Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, N.J.) men’s swimming team were honored by the Empire 8 conference March 31.

Hu, a freshman, was named the conference’s Rookie of the Year, while Wilson, a junior, was named the Swimmer of the Year.

The duo helped the Ducks to a 17th-place finish at the NCAA’s, and the program’s first-ever Empire 8 Swimming and Diving Championship.

At the NCAA’s, both Hu and Wilson earned All-America honors in the 400-yard individual medley taking eighth and fifth, respectively. Hu also earned honorable mention All-America accolades by finishing ninth in the 200-yard butterfly and 13th in the 200-yard individual medley. Wilson was an honorable mention All-American in the 1,650-yard freestyle, placing ninth.
