The Coupeville fastpitch team suffered a rough outing in its 12-2 loss at Friday Harbor Thursday, March 18.

The Wolves offense sputtered as the Wolverines' Kerri Goff threw a no-hitter. Coupeville coach Denny Zylstra said his club never hit a ball out of the infield.

Defensively, walks and errors derailed Coupeville. Zylstra said, “It was more the mental errors than anything” that hurt the Wolves.

Friday Harbor led just 1-0 until the middle innings then things began to unravel for Coupeville.

Zylstra said starting pitcher freshman Marie Rockwell threw well until the Wolves' defense fell apart. Zylstra said the bright spot of an otherwise dismal day was the play of Rockwell and her battery mate, freshman catcher Bessie Walstad.
