The Oak Harbor High School boys golf team opened its season by placing third out of four teams at the Whidbey Golf and Country Club Thursday, March 18.
Jackson High School took team honors on a cool, calm day by posting a stroke total of 413 from its top five golfers on the 18-hole, 72-par course. Arlington finished second with 426, followed by the Wildcats with 453 and Sedro-Woolley with 481.
Arlington's Anthony Allen took medalist honors by shooting a 78. Oak Harbor's Judd Ford, a junior, carded an 82, good for a third-place tie among individuals.
Following Ford for the Wildcats was senior Matt Fikse at 87. Senior Dan Klope shot a 94, and freshmen Austin Fields and Jim Nguyen finished at 95. Junior Greg Martin shot a nonqualifying 105.
