Tennis: Vikings nip Wildcats 4-3

Visiting Lake Stevens nipped the Oak Harbor tennis team 4-3 Wednesday, March 17.
The Vikings were able to sweep all three doubles matches and pick up one singles win to secure the victory.
The Wildcats got wins from Cady O'Dell in first singles (6-2, 6-3), Erin Neilon in second singles (6-0, 6-0) and Jordan Faralan in fourth singles (4-6, 6-3, 6-3).
Clarissa Abedesco was edged in third singles 6-3, 4-6, 4-6.
Alexa Holmly and Jennifer Fremd fell in first doubles 6-0, 6-1; Jennifer Bowers and Kerry Rathsabanhdith fell in second doubles 6-4, 6-4; and Shannon Neilon and Joyce Abides fell in third doubles 7-5, 2-6, 3-6.
The loss evened Oak Harbor's season record at 1-1.
Coach Horace Mells said, “All players showed improvement in their games. Erin Neilon was most impressive with her court play and excellent shot making.”
