Colton Elliot's first-place finish at the Graham Morin Memorial Tournament at Squalicum High School in Bellingham Saturday, Dec. 19, led the way as Oak Harbor had six of its eight wrestlers place in the meet.

Along with Elliot's championship run at 140 pounds, the Wildcats grabbed three thirds. Drew Culver recorded three straight pins at 215 to get third.

Josh Barton, wrestling up a weight, nabbed third at 145, and Corey Trimbur was third at 103.

Brandon Strickland was fifth at 112, and Phil Rodgers also finished fifth at 285.

Caoch Mike Crebbin said Oak Harbor took only eight wrestlers because of injury, illness and the holidays.

While the varsity was competing in Bellingham, the Wildcat JV team took part in the Everett Gold Medal Tournament.

Oak Harbor's Javon Payne took first at 215 and received the Outstanding Wrestler Award.
