The Coupeville girls' soccer team, still missing four senior starters to illness, lost to island-rival South Whidbey 4-1 Saturday on the Falcons' field.
Coach Mike Thornton said his team just ran "out of energy." He said, "I could tell that the girls were tired from the hard-fought games earlier in the week."
Casey Andrews scored for the Wolves off an assist from Haley Marx.
Coupeville ends the regular season with a 2-12 conference mark and 4-12 season record. It begins sub-district play Wednesday in Coupeville at 6 p.m.
