Monroe defeated the Wildcat girls’ soccer team 5-0 Tuesday in Oak Harbor.
Coach Jeff Laiblin said early defensive breakdowns put his club in a hole that it couldn’t recover from. The physical Bearcats were the first team in the last five games that dominated the Wildcats early in the match, according to Laiblin.
The loss dropped the Wildcats’ record to 0-9. Laiblin said, “I am very proud of my team. I’ve had teams that won 20 games that didn’t have the heart of these girls.”
Monroe, which defeated Oak Harbor 6-0 earlier this year, is now 4-3-2.
