OH tennis nearly upsets Arlington

Oak Harbor's tennis team nearly upset one of Wesco's top teams, but fell just short in a 4-3 loss to Arlington here Friday.
The Wildcats captured the first two singles matches. Derek Thomas won 6-3, 6-0 in No. 1 singles, and teammate Josh Evans took No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2.
Brandon Vagt and David DeGuzman grabbed the 'Cats only doubles win, coming out on top 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in first doubles.
Ben Cardinal was nipped in third singles 6-7(5), 6-4, 4-6; and Max O'Dell lost in fourth singles 2-6, 0-6.
Geoff Worley and Chase Edwards were defeated in second doubles 3-6, 6-7(1); and Chris Holbrook and Kevin Gagen fell 3-6, 0-6 in third doubles.
Arlington is now 7-4, Oak Harbor 2-9. The Wildcats host undefeated Everett Wednesday at 3:45.
