The Coupeville girls’ soccer team “played well,” according to coach Mike Thornton, but fell to South Whidbey 3-0 Thursday in Coupeville.
Thornton said, “We actually played well, and we even had more chances on goal, but we just couldn’t get it in the back of the net.”
The Falcons got first half goals from Jessica Manca and Paige Miller. Anna Lennon finished the scoring with a second-half goal off a deflection.
Thornton said, “It was a good game for us. We are halfway through and we are playing better than when we started.”
The Wolves are now 3-6 for the year, 1-6 in Cascade Conference play. The Wolves go to King’s next Tuesday.
