Seagulls blank Wildcat netters

The Everett tennis team remained undefeated by blanking the Oak Harbor High School boys’ squad 7-0 Wednesday on the Seagulls’ courts.

The Wildcats were able to win only one set during the match with the highly regarded Seagulls. In third singles, Ben Cardinal won the first set 7-5 before falling in the next two 0-6, 0-6.

In other singles action, Derek Thomas lost at No. 1, 5-6, 2-6. Josh Evans went down 2-6, 0-6 in second singles, while David DeGuzman lost 2-6, 1-6 in fourth singles.

Chase Edwards and Geoff Worley were blanked 0-6, 0-6 in first doubles, Brandon Vagt and Max O’Dell lost 4-6, 0-6 in second doubles, and Kevin Gagen and Matthew Takaoka fell 0-6, 1-6 in third doubles.

The Wildcats are now 1-4 for the year. Friday they host Marysville at 3:45, then Cascade next Wednesday.
