The 2009 softball season for Coupeville High School ended as it began with a loss to Friday Harbor.

On March 17, the Wolverines topped the Wolves 13-3 in a five inning game.

Friday’s District 1 play-in game was much closer, but Friday Harbor managed to come away with an 8-7 victory.

The Wolves held a 7-6 lead heading into the seventh inning, but the Wolverines scored a pair of runs to win the game.

Once again, errors played a major role in the loss. Coupeville out-hit Friday Harbor 8-5, but committed 10 fielding miscues.

Silver Daher was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Wolves. Grace LaPoint was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Taylor Sherman stroked a double.

Coupeville ends the season 5-13 in league games and 6-15 overall.
