Coupeville soccer team advances in district

Tuesday's district play-in game was a key one for the Coupeville High School soccer team.

Matched in a loser-out game against visiting Nooksack Valley, it was either win or wait until next season to put on the soccer gear.

The Wolf Pack has been on a roll in recent matches and Tuesday was no exception.

Coupeville scored at the 31-minute mark of the first half on a header by senior Geoff Wacker and that was the only score the Wolves would need.

Three additional goals in the second half sealed the deal and Coupeville's next game will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, on the road at Meridian.

The winner of that game will play against an opponent to be determined at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

The loser also plays at Wildcat Memorial in an 11 a.m. game.
