Little League tryouts begin Saturday

Saturday, Feb. 21, is the first day of tryouts for baseball. Nine-year-olds need to be at Windjammer Park at 9 a.m., 10-year-olds at 10:30 a.m., 11-year-olds at 1 p.m. 12-year-olds should report to the fields at 2:30 pm.

On Sunday, Feb. 22, the first day of Little League tryouts for softball is scheduled. Players 7- to-9-years-old should report to Windjammer Park at 1 p.m., 10- to-12-year-olds at 2 p.m. and tryouts for 13- to-16-year-olds are scheduled for 3 p.m.

A second weekend of tryouts for baseball and softball will be announced at a later date. Players must attend at least one of the tryout sessions. These tryouts are evaluations that will allow Little League coaches to balance the talent on the teams.
