February 3, 2009 · 3:47 PM
Congratulations go to Oak Harbor High School senior Jennifer Jansen on being named the Wendy’s High School Heisman school winner.
For the past 14 years, Wendy’s Restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to create this award.
The award honors high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership. She was selected from all the dedicated student-athletes who applied for this award at OHHS for the 2008-2009 school year.
A three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and tennis for the Wildcats, she was most recently voted a second-team WesCo North volleyball all-star for the 2008 season.
Jansen will continue her athletic career at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where she plans on playing basketball and tennis for the school.
